Seattle Kraken Sign Will Borgen
The Seattle Kraken have signed defenseman Will Borgen to a two-year, $1.8 million contract. It will have an average annual value of $900,000. He was their pick from the Buffalo Sabres in the Expansion Draft.
Borgen has suited up in 14 NHL games and has yet to record a point. However, he is noted as being a defensive defenseman, so offense is not his specialty. Instead, he is a hard-nosed and dependable defenseman who can be utilized on the penalty kill. He also is still just 24-years-old, so there is reason to believe he will continue to improve.Welcome to the 206!

Borgen could end up finding his way on their bottom-pair at the start of the season, but he does have a lot of competition. Seattle is quite deep on the backend, both in quantity and quality. At the end of the day, though, this is a good little signing that could benefit them well. It will be nice to see how he develops moving forward.
