St. Louis Blues Set Date For Chris Pronger Jersey Retirement
The St. Louis Blues will be retiring Chris Pronger's No. 44 on January 17, 2022. It certainly is deserving, as he is one of the best players to ever wear a Blues' sweater.
In 598 games over nine seasons with the Blues, Pronger had 84 goals, 272 assists and 356 points. His immensely physical style of play also had him tally up a massive 931 penalty minutes. This made him a very difficult player to go up against and ultimately led to him being an elite defenseman in the league. He was the complete package.SAVE THE DATE! No. 44 will be raised to the rafters on Jan. 17, 2022. https://t.co/RpusaohT7R

As a member of the Blues, he won both the Hart Memorial Trophy and James Norris Memorial Trophy during the 1999-2000 season. He also made it to six All-Star games, but only was able to play in three of them because of injury. From 1997-2002, he also was captain of the team.
His time with the Blues ended before the start of the 2005-06 season when he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers.
Nonetheless, it will be nice to see Pronger's number retired. He was such a great player for the Blues and his time there is a big reason why he's in the Hockey Hall of Fame today.
