2 Players Who Could Be Next Captain of Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres are moving on from the Jack Eichel era, even with Eichel still be paid by the team. He was recently stripped of his captaincy after failing his physical this week at training camp. The team now looks to potentially naming another captain this season or next, and they have some great options for the 'C'.
Rasmus Dahlin
Dahlin seems like the logical choice. The mobile defenseman is still only 21 years old and is the future of the franchise. His personality doesn't really scream captain, but not all captains are outspoken or the in your face type. A Swedish defenseman in Detroit did it just fine his way.
Dylan Cozens
Cozens won't be given the C this season but there's a shot after a breakout year, he could be given the responsibility in 2022. Considering all the hoop-la the Sabres have dealt with this offseason, it's likely they take at least one, if not two years to name another leader for the room. Cozens is a hard working kid who has been the face of the team's marketing scheme and has made regularly community appearances this summer. He's also a hell of a hockey player.
