Blackhawks' Toews Ready For Fresh Start in Chicago
The Chicago Blackhawks are welcoming back their captain Jonathan Toews with open arms. After missing the entire 2020-21 season with chronic immune response syndrome. Toews is back in the windy city and ready to win hockey games.
Toews met with the media on Thursday and spoke about the fresh start and clean slate dealt to him and his Blackhawks teammates:
It feels really good to be back. It's a brand new group in so many ways. It's a fresh start for the other guys, but for me especially. I'm just taking it one day at a time, that's all I can really handle right now. I kind of got into the whole 'goals vs. expectations' thing and I had to think about that for a minute, but that’s my goal. I think I just have to keep being patient
The team has high expectations as the fresh faces and talent should give the Blackhawks a great shot at going deep into the postseason. It's just going to be so damn nice having Toews back in the NHL and let's hope everything works out in 2021-22, for him personally and for the team.
