Boston Bruins: 2 Underrated Players To Watch

The NHL has so many underrated players who deserve far more recognition. In this segment, we will be discussing two from every team in the league. Their overall roles and abilities may differ, but they all share the common theme that they are not as respected as they ought to be.

In this piece, we will be looking at the Boston Bruins. The Bruins have a handful of stars on their roster, such as Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy and captain Patrice Bergeron. However, it feels a right to shine a light on two of their bottom-six forwards for this season.

Curtis Lazar C/RW: The Bruins acquired Curtis Lazar from the Buffalo Sabres as a part of the Taylor Hall trade. He went on to play 17 regular season games with Boston from there, where he scored two goals and had four points. Although the former first-round pick never blossomed into a star, his hard work ethic and tenacious style of play should continue to make him a nice part of their fourth-line next season.

Tomas Nosek C/LW: Tomas Nosek was a small signing by the Bruins this off-season, but he should be a nice addition. In 38 games this past season, he scored eight goals and recorded 18 points. It was the best offensive season since joining the NHL. However, he also can work well on the penalty kill and is solid at the faceoff dot. During the 2018-19 season with the Vegas Golden Knights, he won 62.1% of his draws. Even though he only won 51.7% of them this season, he was still more successful than not.
