Buffalo Sabres Re-Sign Casey Mittelstadt
The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed Casey Mittelstadt to a three-year contract. It will have an average annual value of $2.5 million.
Although his road to the NHL was a bit bumpy, Mittelstadt took a real step forward with his development this past season. In 41 games, he scored 10 goals and recorded 22 points. With the departure of Sam Reinhart and an inevitable Jack Eichel trade coming soon, the Sabres will be utilizing Mittelstadt very frequently. They are hoping the 2017 eighth overall pick blossoms into their next star.Mitts is back! 🙌

In 155 career NHL games with the Sabres, Mittelstadt has 27 goals, 34 assists and 61 points. Perhaps the 22-year-old forward will double that this season with a 61-point campaign. Never say never, right?
Overall, this is a good signing for the Sabres. It is not only very affordable, but also for multiple seasons. We will have to wait and see just how good Mittelstadt becomes. It appears he is now heading in the right direction.
