Calgary Flames Sign Brad Richardson

The Calgary Flames have signed veteran forward Brad Richardson to a one-year, $800,000 contract.

In 17 games last season with the Nashville Predators, Richardson scored a goal and recorded four total points. At this stage of his career, he is more of a depth forward who can be utilized in the bottom-six if needed. He also can be play both on the wing and at center, so Calgary does have some options with him.

Something interesting to note is that he did have a 19-goal campaign with the Arizona Coyotes just two seasons ago. Therefore, he can produce decent depth scoring when given the chance to play regularly. We will have to wait and see if he can be effective for Calgary this go-around.

In 825 career games between the Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, Coyotes and Predators, Richardson has 107 goals, 139 assists and 246 points.
