Canadiens Provide Injury Update on Cole Caufield
The Montreal Canadiens will have to continue training camp without their stud rookie Cole Caufield, as the sniper is going to miss at least a week due to an upper body injury.
Ducharme says it’s an upper-body injury for Cole Caufield. Will miss “about one week.”

At this point it doesn't appear to be anything serious, however if it continues to linger throughout the year it could become a strength and stamina concern. Caufield is expected to push for the Calder Trophy in 2021-22 and is becoming a fan favorite and superstar in the Montreal media.
Caufield did suit up for the Canadiens on Saturday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs and in warmups of the intra-squad game the following day, decided it was not feeling well and couldn't go. His skating looked up to NHL speed during Saturday's opener, but his shot was all over the place. At this point it's hard to determine if it's related at all, but take a look at Caufield against the Leafs and he definitely wasn't his normal sharp self.
