Detroit Red Wings Sign Carter Rowney
The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Carter Rowney to a one-year contract.
In 19 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks, he had six assists. Over the two previous seasons with them, he was a mainstay in their bottom-six. He even recorded 20 points in 62 games during the 2018-19 season. Therefore, he can provide decent depth scoring. The #RedWings today agreed to terms with center Carter Rowney on a one-year contract.

Before joining the Ducks, Rowney played two NHL seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He most memorably played in 20 games during the 2017 postseason, where the Penguins went on to win the Stanley Cup. In them, he had three assists.
With the Red Wings, Rowney could very well end up on their fourth-line. He is a good depth player to have and can be a mentor for the younger players in the locker room. That's never a bad thing for a rebuilding team to have.
In 223 career NHL games between the Penguins and Ducks, Rowney has 20 goals, 37 assists and 57 points.
