Dominik Kahun Signs In Switzerland
Dominik Kahun is heading to Switzerland. The 26-year-old forward has signed a three-year contract with SC Bern of the National League.
With the off-season inching closer to its end, it makes sense that Kahun has signed a deal in a different league. He was an intriguing free agent on the market, but an NHL deal just did not come into fruition. In three years, he will be eligible to come back to the league, though.Der #SCBern hat den deutschen Nationalspieler Dominik Kahun per sofort für drei Jahre verpflichtet. https://t.co/noQ28eMiFa

Kahun struggled this past season with the Edmonton Oilers, as he only had six goals and 15 points in 48 games. The season before with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres, he scored 12 goals and had 31 points in 50 games. Thus, his drop-off this past season was quite surprising, as he had offensive success his first two years in the league.
In 186 career games between the Chicago Blackhawks, Penguins, Sabres and Oilers, Kahun had 34 goals, 49 assists and 83 points. Perhaps an NHL return is possible in the future if he plays very well in Switzerland. We will have to wait and see.
