Done Deal: Ottawa Senators and St Louis Blues Make a Trade
The Ottawa Senators and St Louis Blues have pulled off a trade. The deal sees the Senators sending disgruntled center Logan Brown to the Blues in exchange for winger Zach Sanford and a conditional pick.
It is indeed Logan Brown to STL for Zach Sanford and a conditional pick that will be removed if Brown plays 30 NHL games

The trade sheds Sanford's $2 million cap, putting the Blues about $700,000 under the cap, according to @CapFriendly.

Brown is in the final year of his deal at $750,000 in the NHL and $100,000 in the minors. #stlblues
Logan Brown, acquired by STL, has one of the strangest projections I've seen from a prospect: very limited upside but a surprisingly high chance of sticking in the league. #STLBlues pic.twitter.com/CLMgygjNQn

The Senators have tons of cap space with over $20 million available so they certainly had the room to fit Sanford's $2 million salary for 2021-22 on their books. The 26-year-old is 6'4 and plays a heavy game. Last season Sanford recorded 16 points in 52 games.
As for Brown, he gets his wish out of Ottawa. He fell on the depth chart and was not happy about it. He's 23, and will look to find a bigger role with the Blues this season. Last year with the Sens, Brown only appeared in one game and spent the season in the AHL, putting up nine points in 13 games.
Expect to see some more trades in the next week as teams realize what they have in camp, and more importantly what they are missing.
