Hurricanes Aho Loved Watching Kotkaniemi's Offer Sheet Unfold

Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho knew what it was like from the other side, this time he just sat back and enjoyed the show. When the Hurricanes signed Jesperi Kotkaniemi to an offer sheet, Aho was certainly surprised, but what he loved the most about it was the $20 signing bonus.

Aho spoke to ESPN's Greg Wyshynski earlier this week and had this to say about the move and the atmosphere when Montreal comes to town:

To be honest, it's pretty funny to see a $20 signing bonus. All jokes aside, we got a pretty good player. It got people talking. I think it's going to be a good thing. It's going to be fun playing them next year. It's part of the business. The social media is so huge these days. You don't have to play a game, and you already have a buzz

A former third overall pick, Kotkaniemi joins the Hurricanes on a one-year deal after posting 22 goals and 40 assists in 171 career games with the Canadiens. He'll join the Hurricanes and hope his one year deal turns into a long term deal and he finds a new home, and a new chapter in his career in Carolina. For everyone else, let's just hope the Canadiens and the Hurricanes play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
