Jakub Vrána Out Long-Term
According to Detroit Red Wings head coach Jeff Blashill, Jakub Vrána will be out for at least the next four months due to a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old winger injured himself his first day back at camp and needs to get surgery on it.
This is horrible news for the Red Wings, as Vrána is one of their best players and has been spectacular since they acquired him. He was a part of the Anthony Mantha trade, and it's safe to say things have worked out for Detroit since. In 11 games as a Red Wing, Vrána scored eight goals and recorded 11 points last season.INJURY UPDATE: Detroit Red Wings forward Jakub Vrana our minimum of 4 months due to shoulder injury (requires surgery), per HC Jeff Blashill. #LGRW

The severity of his injury now is expected to keep him out until at least February, and that's just such a shame. Even though the Red Wings are still rebuilding, he's such an important part of their roster. Furthermore, Detroit fans were excited to see what he could have done over a full 82-game schedule with them.
Here's to hoping Vrána has a speedy recovery and dominates again once he returns to the ice.
