Kaprizov Rejects MASSIVE Contract Offer From Minnesota Wild

Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov is about to enter his second season in the NHL without a contract as the reigning Calder Trophy winner has not yet reached an agreement with general manager Bill Guerin. The two sides continue to talk as training camp begins this week. Turns out Kaprizov rejected a massive offer over the summer and is likely regretting his decision.

According to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Wild offered eight years at $9 million per season, and Kaprizov and his camp decided that wasn't enough to sign.

One year of NHL service and you are offered $72 million and walk away? Tough look for Kirill the Thrill. He remains one of the biggest names still remaining on the RFA list, with the NHL opening training camps on Wednesday and preseason beginning on Saturday.

In his rookie season, Kaprizov scored 51 points in 55 games and showed the league he's going to be a force for years to come. One problem...he doesn't have a contract and could be starting the season on the outside looking in.

Who says no to $72 million? Kirill Kaprizov.

UPDATE* Kaprizov has now signed with the Wild, as management came down with the term to meet the players needs.
