Kris Letang Comments on Future in Pittsburgh

Even though Kris Letang has three Stanley Cup rings with the Pittsburgh Penguins, there's no doubt about what motivates him each and every day. Letang wants to win another Cup as a Penguin, and he wants to celebrate with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

Letang recently met with Mike DeFabo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and had this to say about how winning is still everything:

It doesn't matter how many years I'm going to keep doing this. I just want to do it for one reason - that's to win every year. I feel comfortable saying we have what we need to be successful, whether on the coaching staff or player-wise. We have the group to do it.

You hear about those guys who decide to go with another team trying to look for another Cup or bigger salaries. The thing we built in Pittsburgh with Sid and Geno, I think it's special. Obviously, there's always an end to an era. I cannot predict when it's going to be done. At the end of the day, guys who have been together for 15-20 years - whatever it ends up being - is going to be on the small scale of the longevity of a franchise. You have to think about all the other years and you want to keep winning.

The Penguins have made the playoffs in 15 straight seasons and appear destined for another Cup run. After this season is anyone's guess, but if it was up to Letang, the trio of Pens superstars are retiring together in Pittsburgh.
