Maple Leafs Forward Out With Hip Injury
The Toronto Maple Leafs are banged up and the regular season hasn't even started. The team is already without Auston Matthews at training camp and now are dealing with a hip injury to forward Pierre Engvall.

Engvall's injury came at a brutal time as the former seventh-round pick is battling for a spot on the team's bottom two lines. The Leafs went out and signed a slew of depth forwards this past summer and players like Engvall have to use training camp to show they belong. Sitting in the press box hurt during games isn't a good way to showcase your skills, but unfortunately that's sports and injuries are a big part of it.
Last season Engvall played a touch at center and mostly on the wing. He recorded 12 points in 42 games and had one assist in six postseason games. He's considered day to day so perhaps he'll be available mid-week for the Leafs. The team matches up once again against the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.
