Marko Daňo Is Heading To The Czech Republic

Marko Daňo's time in North America has come to a close. The 2013 first-round pick has signed a contract with HC Oceláři Třinec of the Czech Extraliga.

Daňo was a part of the Winnipeg Jets' organization this past season, but did not play in an NHL game. Instead, he suited up for 13 games with the Manitoba Moose. With them, he scored a goal and had three points.

Daňo last played in the NHL during the 2019-20 season, where he played three games with the team who originally drafted him, the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was held off the scoresheet in those contests and primarily played that season with the Cleveland Monsters.

Daňo started off his NHL career quite well, as he scored eight goals and recorded 21 points in 35 games during the 2014-15 season with Columbus. Yet, he never was able to find his rhythm offensively again and bounced from league-to-league.

In 141 career games with the Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, Jets and Colorado Avalanche, Daňo had 19 goals, 26 assists and 45 points.
