Minnesota Wild: 2 Underrated Players To Watch

The NHL has so many underrated players who deserve far more recognition. In this segment, we will be discussing two from every team in the league. Their overall roles and abilities may differ, but they all share the common theme that they are not as respected as they ought to be.

In this piece, we will be looking at the Minnesota Wild. They are certainly a team on the rise and these two players are playing a big role in their success.

Nico Sturm C: Nico Sturm cemented himself as a legitimate NHLer this past year. In 50 games, he scored a notable 11 goals and recorded 17 points. Keep in mind, the 26-year-old center played a total of just eight NHL games over the previous two seasons. He also has been noted for his solid defensive play, so he can be utilized on the penalty kill if needed. If he performs that well again this season, he should land himself a nice raise from his current $725,000 cap hit. He is eligible for unrestricted free agency next summer.

Jordan Greenway LW: Jordan Greenway is continuing to improve with each season. During this past year, he scored six goals and recorded 32 points in 56 games. In 68 games the previous season, he had 28 points in 67 games. His success this past season may have been overshadowed by players like Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek, but he was still very good. In fact, if he's a mainstay in their top-six this season, his overall production should continue to increase.
