Minnesota Wild Re-Sign Kirill Kaprizov!

After a long summer of contract talks, the Minnesota Wild have finally come to terms with Kirill Kaprizov. He has signed a five-year deal that will have an average annual value of $9 million.

Kaprizov began his NHL career this past season and certainly lived up to the hype. In 55 games, he scored 27 goals and recorded 51 points. This of course was enough for him to win the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's top rookie.

Earlier today, we reported that Kaprizov rejected an eight-year, $72 million contract with the Wild earlier this summer. Therefore, it's become clear that money was not the issue, but rather term. By the time this new contract expires, he will still be just 29 years old. Therefore, if he opts to hit the open market then and continues to play this well, he will get an even bigger payday.

Alas, this is a huge day for the Wild, as they have finally locked up their big star. With this, each key Wild player is under contract for next season.

Now, we are left with our next big question. How many points will Kaprizov get this year with a full 82-game schedule? Let us know your predictions!
