Nashville Predators: 2 Breakout Candidates For Next Season

With each season that passes, it seems as though every team has players who improve significantly. They often turn out to be prospects naturally, but players who have some experience in the league also can. In this segment, we will be looking at two potential breakout candidates from each team. We will also be setting a max age limit of 26 years old, so older players are not eligible for discussion.

In this piece, we will be focusing on the Nashville Predators. It will be intriguing to see how they perform this season. They traded away two notable players in Ryan Ellis and Viktor Arvidsson. They also lost Calle Jarnkrok to the Seattle Kraken. However, if these two breakout candidates have big years, Nashville could be a sneaky threat.

Eeli Tolvanen LW: After a bit of a rocky journey to the NHL, Eeli Tolvanen took a big step forward this past season. In 40 games, he scored 11 goals and recorded 22 points. With Nashville this season, he should receive more playing time because of the loss of Arvidsson. This alone could be enough for him to have even more success offensively.

Cody Glass C: Cody Glass never was able to become a mainstay in Vegas' lineup. Over the last two seasons, he played just 66 games, while scoring nine goals and recording 22 points. On a team like Nashville, he should be able to receive far more playing time, especially with the departure of Jarnkrok. Some people may have given up on the 2017 sixth overall pick, but let's see how he responds to his new opportunity.

Honorable Mentions: Philip Tomasino and David Farrance also are worth noting. However, because we talked about them in our prospect piece earlier this month, it felt right to discuss two other players.
