New York Islanders Re-Sign Two Former First-Round Picks
The New York Islanders have re-signed RFAs Kieffer Bellows and Michael Dal Colle. The details of their contracts have yet to be released, however.
Bellows was selected 19th overall by the Islanders in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Over the last two seasons with the Islanders, he had five goals and an assist in 22 games. During the 2019-20 season, he also played 52 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. With them, he scored 22 goals and recorded 31 points. He will be aiming to land himself a permanent role with the NHL squad this season.#Isles GM Lou Lamoriello says Cory Schneider is returning on a two-way contract. Michael dal Colle and RFA Kieffer Bellows are under contract.

Michael Dal Colle was not tendered a qualifying offer earlier this off-season, so it seemed unlikely that he would return. The 2014 fifth overall pick was an unrestricted free agent and could have had a fresh start. However, he has decided to return to his draft team. In 26 games this past season, he scored a goal and recorded four points.
We will have to wait and see how these former first-rounders perform this upcoming season. Nonetheless, it's been another busy day with the Islanders, as the signing of Cory Schneider was also confirmed, too.
