New York Islanders Sign Multiple Depth Players

According to CapFriendly, the New York Islanders have signed Andy Andreoff, Dmytro Timashov, Paul LaDue, and Otto Koivula to one-year, two-way contracts. Cole Bardreau also signed a two-year, two-way contract. They each would make $750,000 if they play at the NHL level.

Andreoff suited up in six games for the Philadelphia Flyers this past season and failed to record a point. He also played three games in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and scored two goals. Andreoff is a tenacious depth forward who never shies away from the physical side of the game. This could allow him to get some call-ups when injuries occur.

Timashov played a game last season with the Islanders and was held off the scoresheet. In 22 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, he scored five goals and recorded 11 points. In 45 career NHL games between the Maple Leafs, Red Wings and Islanders, he has four goals and nine points.

Earlier this week, we reported that LaDue was expected to sign with the Islanders. Therefore, this is not all that surprising. He spent the entire year last season with the Hershey Bears and had eight points in 18 games.

Koivula last played in the NHL during the 2019-20 season. In 12 games, he was held without a point. The 6'4" forward spent this past season with the Sound Tigers. In 20 games, he scored two goals and had 9 points. In 125 career AHL games, he has 32 goals and 77 points.

Bardreau just had a good season with the Sound Tigers. In 24 games, the 28-year-old scored 10 goals and recorded 16 points. He last played in the NHL during the 2019-20 season with the Islanders. In them, he had a goal and assist. He should continue to be a key contributor to their AHL squad next season.
