NHL Alum Ryan Kesler Calls Out Auston Matthews & Mitch Marner

The Toronto Maple Leafs have some expensive talent on their roster. Their two best players, Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner are signed to massive contract extensions, making $22.5 million a season. While they are fan favorites of Leafs Nation, one person who isn't a fan...Ryan Kesler.

Kesler, who hasn't played a game since the 2018-19 season was recently on a Vancouver based podcast and took aim at the Maple Leafs duo not taking discounts:

If you want to win, leave some money on the table. You wonder why Toronto struggles. TOR struggles because they have 2 young players that make too much money... what ever happened to the bridge deal that you set yourself up for a championship team

The Maple Leafs have not won a first-round playoff series in almost two decades and last postseason both Marner and Matthews struggled. Still, were Kesler's comments warranted? Let us know in the comments....
