Ottawa Senators: 2 Trade Rumors Following the Team
The Ottawa Senators continue their rebuild with hopefully some organizational success coming soon. The team is one of the youngest in the league and management was busy this offseason. Expect some more in-season moves from Senators general manager Pierre Dorion, and let's dive into two rumors that have been following the team in Ottawa.
Netminder Matt Murray Being Shopped
Buyer's remorse anyone? The Senators signed Murray to a big contract before he even played one game in Ottawa and frankly it's not looking good. The team left him exposed in the Seattle Kraken expansion draft and unfortunately for the Sens he never was selected. Rumor has the Senators offer Murray to the Buffalo Sabres and Edmonton Oilers, but to this point no takers. We'll see if Murray can bounce back from his .893 save % from last season.
Connor Brown to the New York Rangers
There's been a ton of speculation about the Senators being linked to the New York Rangers in regards to Ryan Strome, but so far nothing has materialized. The deal rumored was a Strome for Brown swap, as both players fill a need for the other team. Brown seems to be coming into his own in Ottawa and Strome is a pending free-agent so there could be lots more to unfold with this deal. Talks have cooled so we will see if they pick back up once training camp starts.
