Report: The 2022 NHL Entry Draft Will Be Hosted In Montreal
The 2022 NHL Entry Draft will officially be in Montreal. We reported earlier this week that the date of it would likely change and it has. It will now take place on July 7th and July 8th.
Montreal was originally supposed to hold the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, but the pandemic prohibited that from occurring. It’s official, the 2022 NHL Draft will take place in Montreal on July 7 and 8!https://t.co/EIK91D1iVV

The NHL Draft has been in Montreal a plethora of times. From 1963 to 1984, they were exclusively held in the city, but in multiple different venues. The league also returned to Montreal in 1986, 1988, 1992 and most recently in 2009 at the Bell Centre.
This draft class is expected to be a deep one, so it will be an event hockey fans should watch. Top prospects include Shane Wright, Ivan Miroshnichenko, Brad Lambert and Matthew Savoie. However, that is only the beginning, as there are plenty of talented kids expected to be taken.
It's great to see that the event will no longer have to be done virtually.
