Rumor: Phil Kessel Demands Trade From Arizona Coyotes

All Phil Kessel does is score goals. It doesn't matter which team he plays for, Kessel is a goal scoring machine who has produced for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Arizona Coyotes. In 2021-22, Kessel wants to produce for another team as he's no longer happy in the desert and wants out.

Coyotes insider Craig Morgan was recently a guest on the "Brotherly Pod" and had this to say about Kessel's future with the Yotes:

Trust me, Phil wants to move. He wants out of here; he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild. The problem is moving Phil, they just haven’t had much interest from other teams at this point. Even though he led the team with 20 goals last year, I think other teams look at it and think there’s some baggage associated with Phil Kessel. I would expect him to get moved at some point, maybe it will be early in the season when a team identifies a need for scoring or has an injury. Maybe it will go all the way to the Trade Deadline. But I don’t think he will finish the season in Arizona.

Expect to see a number of teams in on the American born sniper as goal scoring is hard to come by in this league. The best part about a team acquiring Kessel is the fact he's only owed $1 million cash this season. His signing bonus has already been paid and he's now technically available on the cheap. It won't be long before Kessel gets his wish and gets out of Arizona.
