Ryan Kesler Is Taking On New Job

Ryan Kesler has a new job. The 37-year-old is going to be a volunteer assistant coach for the USA National Team Development Program's U18 team. He was a player for them from 2000 to 2002.

Due to hip resurfacing surgery, Kesler has not been able to play for the Anaheim Ducks since the 2018-19 season. He has yet to officially retire, as he is still under contract until the end of this upcoming season. However, with the severity of his injuries, he will never return to professional hockey.

Kesler's immense amount of NHL experience should make him a nice addition to the program's coaching staff. In 1,001 career games between the Vancouver Canucks and Ducks, he had 258 goals, 315 assists and 573 points. He also went on to win the Selke Trophy in 2011 because of how strong of a two-way forward he was in his prime.
