Seattle Kraken: 3 Bold Predictions for the 2021-22 Season
The Seattle Kraken are going to try to turn themselves into the Vegas Golden Knights 2.0. Only one problem, they don't have the depth on their roster like the Golden Knights had their first season and the Kraken could be in for a long year. Here's 3 bold predictions for the Kraken's inaugural season:
Kraken Miss the Playoffs
Sorry, but the roster doesn't impress, especially up front. The Kraken are going to have a hard time scoring goals, regardless of the style they try and play. It's actually surprising there was so much talk about them passing on the better player to select the cheaper alternative, just to have a full roster and only $7.4 million in cap space. It's going to be a long year in Seattle.
Jaden Schwartz Leads Team With 55 Points
It's going to be scoring by committee for the Kraken, and if Schwartz can stay healthy, he should be on the team's top-line as well as the first power play unit. Kraken is very familiar with the coaching staff and could be in for way more ice-time than he saw in St Louis. Look for the winger to out produce his 21 points from last season and get back over 50 points.
Jared McCann Becomes Team's #1 Center
McCann came into his own a little bit with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and there was a reason the Toronto Maple Leafs were considering McCann over Alexander Kerfoot for a couple of days. McCann is a smooth skater, plays both sides of the puck well and has developed a nice scoring touch. Look for the 25-year-old to build off his career season and blossoming into a nice catch for the Kraken.
