Seattle Kraken Sign Aaron Ness To Professional Tryout Contract

The Seattle Kraken have signed defenseman Aaron Ness to a professional tryout contract.

When looking at how deep the Kraken are on defense, Ness would likely be competing for a spot on their AHL squad. That certainly is not a bad thing, though, as he has had a lot of success as an AHLer. For example, during the 2018-19 season with the Hershey Bears, he scored five goals and recorded 55 points in 71 games.

However, he also has had some recent NHL experience, too. This past season, he played a game with the Arizona Coyotes, but was held off the scoresheet. He also played 24 games with the Coyotes the season before and recorded an assist.

Throughout his entire NHL career, Ness has a goal and six assists in 72 total games. He previously played for the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals before the Coyotes.

Ness could be an acceptable call-up option if he is signed as well. It's never a bad thing to have a lot of depth defenseman, so it would not be surprising if Ness lands himself a deal.
