Seattle Kraken Sign Max McCormick
The Seattle Kraken have signed Max McCormick to a one-year, two-way contract. It will pay him $750,000 at the NHL level.
McCormick appeared in 12 games last season with the Carolina Hurricanes. In them, he scored two goals and added an assist. He also played a game with the Chicago Wolves, but was held off the scoresheet.
During the 2019-20 season with the Charlotte Checkers, he scored 16 goals and recorded 35 points in 56 games. He also tacked on 120 penalty minutes, so yes, he plays a very physical game.
Charlotte is also Seattle's AHL affiliate for this season, so if he ends up staying in the minors, he will be playing for a familiar franchise.
Nonetheless, this is another nice depth move by the Kraken. Do not be surprised to see more of them before the start of the season.
