Semyon Varlamov Still Not Skating With New York Islanders
According to Arthur Staple, goaltender Semyon Varlamov is still not skating with the team due an undisclosed injury. An expected recovery time for him to return has yet to be announced.
There's no need for too much panic, though. The Islanders have Ilya Sorokin to lead the charge if Varlamov has to end up missing some time during the regular season. He also has a few weeks before the start of the regular season to heal up, so him returning before it is very possible.Sorokin in net for #Isles tonight at MSG. Varlamov (undisclosed) still not skating.

Varlamov had a fantastic season last year with the Islanders. In 36 games, he had a 19-11-4 record, 2.04 GAA and .929 SV%. He also played well during the postseason. In 14 games, he went 7-7 and had a .922 SV%.
Once Varlamov is officially back on the ice and ready to go, the Islanders will be in great shape yet again when it comes to goaltending. It's hard to find a better tandem than Varlamov and Sorokin.
