St. Louis Blues: 2 Breakout Candidates For Next Season
With each season that passes, it seems as though every team has players who improve significantly. They often turn out to be prospects naturally, but players who have some experience in the league also can. In this segment, we will be looking at two potential breakout candidates from each team. We will also be setting a max age limit of 26 years old, so older players are not eligible for discussion.
In this piece, we will be focusing on the St. Louis Blues. The Blues will be a very intriguing team to watch this season, as they are looking to regroup after being swept out of the first round by the Avalanche. These two young forwards should be able to help them with that, as they are continuing to improve at the NHL level. Expect to see them become even better and be key players for the Blues moving forward.
Robert Thomas C/RW: Sometimes it's hard to remember that Robert Thomas is just 22 years old. He's heading into his fourth NHL season already. He had a down year this past season, as he only had three goals and 12 points in 33 games. However, he had a 42-point campaign in 66 games the season before. Given the fact that he is so young, it is not far-fetched to believe that he not only should be able to replicate those totals, but produce even more.
Jordan Kyrou C/RW: Jordan Kyrou cemented himself as a legitimate NHLer this past season. In 55 games, he scored 14 goals and had 35 points. One could argue that it was his breakout campaign, but at 23 years old, there could be more in store. He is only 99 games into his NHL career and should be able to improve as he gets more experience. It will be exciting to see what he produces this go-around.
