St. Louis Blues: 2 Underrated Players To Watch

The NHL has so many underrated players who deserve far more recognition. In this segment, we will be discussing two from every team in the league. Their overall roles and abilities may differ, but they all share the common theme that they are not as respected as they ought to be.

For full transparency, two teams will be randomly picked from a wheel each day. The winners will then be discussed.

In today's first piece, we will be looking at the St. Louis Blues. These two young forwards have had success in the NHL thus far, but are not talked about as frequently as St. Louis' stars like Ryan O'Reilly, David Perron and Brayden Schenn.

Robert Thomas C: Robert Thomas is still in need of his new contract, but once he is signed, fans should watch him closely this season. Thomas had a bit of a down year this past season, as he had 12 points in 33 games and dealt with multiple injuries. The season before, he had 42 points in 66 games, so he certainly is capable of producing solid offense. He also is still just 22 years old, so there is plenty of reason to believe he will continue to improve. He also had three assists in four postseason games this season, so perhaps he will carry that offensive momentum into this season. A bounce back should occur for him this underrated youngster.

Jordan Kyrou C/RW: Jordan Kyrou arrived this past season, as he had 14 goals and 35 points in 55 games. However, due to the fact that NHL teams only played division rivals this season, many hockey fans may not even realize how good of a year he had. With this season going back to a regular schedule, Kyrou should certainly become a far more popular player. The 23-year-old forward also is only heading into his full second season with the team, so one should expect even more from him this time around.
