There's A Surprising Name On The Boston Bruins' Training Camp Roster

Earlier this week, Aaron Ness signed a professional tryout contract with the Seattle Kraken. Yet, the 31-year-old defenseman will now be attending training camp for the Boston Bruins. A deal of any sort has yet to be released to the public. It seems that a contract for the season could end up being signed, though.

Ness appeared in just one NHL game this past season with the Arizona Coyotes. In it, he failed to record a point. During the 2019-20 season, he also played 24 games with the Coyotes and had an assist. In 17 AHL game that same year, he scored two goals and had nine points.

Ness also had a 55-point campaign in 71 games with the Hershey Bears during the 2018-19 season, so he can be an effective point-producer at the AHL level. He also previously was a captain for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers during the 2014-15 season. Therefore, he has a lot of overall experience and could be a nice leader for Providence.

It's never a bad thing to add depth and Ness would provide that if Boston officially signs him. We will have to wait and see if that is going to occur.
