Vancouver Canucks: 2 Underrated Players To Watch

The NHL has so many underrated players who deserve far more recognition. In this segment, we will be discussing two from every team in the league. Their overall roles and abilities may differ, but they all share the common theme that they are not as respected as they ought to be.

For full transparency, two teams will be randomly picked from a wheel each day. The winners will then be discussed.

Today's second team is the Vancouver Canucks. A lot of people primarily and understandably focus on Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser with this team. However, these two players also warrant far more attention for their contributions.

J.T. Miller LW: Since joining the Canucks during the 2019-20 season, J.T. Miller has become a fantastic point-producer. In his first year with the club, he had 72 points in 69 points. This past season, he scored 15 goals and had 46 points in 53 games. Even if there was a slight decrease in production, those are still impressive totals and the Canucks struggled as an entire unit. Miller seems to not get the same recognition as other NHLers who produce similar totals to him. Perhaps that will change if he has himself another point-per-game season.

Conor Garland RW: Although Oliver Ekman-Larsson is the bigger name, Conor Garland could very well end up being the best piece from that entire trade. In 49 games this past season with the Coyotes, Garland scored 12 goals and recorded 39 points. He tied his career-high in points from the previous season, but played 19 less games to do so. It will be intriguing to see how much more praise Garland gets playing for a bigger market in Vancouver. At 25 years old, he also has a real chance of getting even better.
