Video: Bobby Ryan Has Big Game For Detroit Red Wings

Bobby Ryan helped his case to earn a contract for the season last night. The 34-year-old winger, who currently has a professional tryout contract, tied the game to force overtime.

The Red Wings would then beat the Chicago Blackhawks in a shootout. Ryan also scored during that, too.

The Red Wings signed Ryan to a PTO late into the off-season. He spent last season with the team and played very well. In 33 games, he scored seven goals and recorded 14 points. He missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, but was on pace to being one of the team's top scorers.

Ryan can once again be a good veteran presence for the rebuilding Red Wings, if they of course sign him to a deal. If he continues to contribute on the scoresheet like last night, his chances should be very high.

Nonetheless, here's to hoping the 14-year veteran will be back for the regular season.
