Video: Capitals Defenseman Kicked Out for Nasty Elbow

Washington Capitals defenseman Dylan McIlrath will have a hearing with the NHL's player safety department after the rugged blueliner was kicked out of Sunday's game against the Boston Bruins for delivering a nasty elbow to the chin of Bruins forward Steven Fogarty.

McIlrath received a match penalty for his elbow, and from all accounts it looks like he was targeting the head and this was not 'by accident'. McIlrath signed a two year deal with the Capitals in the offseason and was in line to battle for the last spot on their defense group, but this play certainly won't help his chances.
