Video: Jesperi Kotkaniemi Lights The Lamp With Carolina Hurricanes
Jesperi Kotkaniemi made the NHL off-season end with a bang, as the 21-year-old forward signed a successful offer sheet with the Carolina Hurricanes. Now, the youngster has scored his first goal with the Hurricanes tonight off a beautiful pass from Vincent Trocheck.
Kotkaniemi is already leaving a great first impression with Carolina, as he also has an assist tonight as well. Even though it's just a preseason game, it's a nice start. The Canes are certainly hoping that he can carry this offensive success into the regular season. They paid $6.1 million to steal him from the Montreal Canadiens for a reason.KK gets bucket$ pic.twitter.com/cDwVDjB145

In 56 games this past season with the Hurricanes, Kotkaniemi scored five goals and had 20 points. Over his entire 171-game career, he has 22 goals, 40 assists and 62 points. Yet, the 2018 third overall pick has a lot of potential for improvement, so he could become a big part of Carolina moving forward.
Nonetheless, there's no denying that it was a pretty sweet goal from the kid.
