Video: Jets Stanley and Senators Watson Drop the Gloves
The Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators dropped the puck on their 2021-22 preseason and during the third period of the contest, a couple of players decided to drop the mitts. Logan Stanley of the Jets and Austin Watson of the Senators agreed to fight and let's just say we're still waiting for some punches to land.
Stanley stands over 6'6 and had the reach advantage over the 6'4 Watson. It's not often you see two players fight with under 10 minutes left in the third period of a one-goal game, but when it's preseason, anything can happen.
Look for the young Jets defender to take a giant leap forward this season with his development after signing a two-year contract to stay in Winnipeg. He's blossoming into a favorite with his head coach and if he keeps up the hardnosed play, the Jets fanbase will continue to show love.
As for Watson, he's a depth forward for the Senators who never shies away from contact. I have a feeling we'll see these two drop the gloves once again at some point this season. Here's the 'fight' from Sunday night:
