Nicklas Bäckström Out For The Washington Capitals
The Washington Capitals have announced that center Nicklas Bäckström will miss the beginning of training camp due to a hip injury.
Due to the fact that he's listed as week-to-week, there's a still a chance he could play in the team's season opener against the New York Rangers on October 13th. Therefore, he has a good amount of time to recover. The Capitals certainly want him to ready for the beginning of the regular season, as he's a key player on their roster.#Caps center Nicklas Backstrom will miss the start of the 2021 Training Camp due to ongoing rehabilitation on his hip. Backstrom is currently listed as week-to-week.

Even at 33 years old, Bäckström is still a fantastic playmaker in the NHL. In 55 games this past season, he scored 15 goals and recorded 53 points. In five playoff games against the Boston Bruins, he had only an assist, but he was dealing with his injury by then.
The Capitals are a much better team when Bäckström is present and healthy, so here's to hoping he gets well soon. It's always a joy watching him play.
