Winnipeg Jets To Terminate Forward's Contract
The Winnipeg Jets have placed forward Joona Luoto on unconditional waivers and will be terminating his contract. It had one year remaining.
The Jets signed Luoto during the 2019 off-season. A notable reason behind it was that he played in juniors with then Jet, Patrik Laine. He went on to play 18 games with the Manitoba Moose in his first year with the organization and had four assists. He also suited up in 16 games with the Jets as well, but failed to get on the scoresheet.Winnipeg #NHLJets have placed forward Joona Luoto on Unconditional Waivers for the purpose of contract termination.

This past season, the 24-year-old winger spent some time back in Liiga with HIFK. In 19 games there, he scored five goals and had nine points. He also had two goals and four points back with the Moose.
Although Luoto is not the biggest of losses, it will be intriguing to see where he ends up next. Whether it is with another NHL organization or overseas, we wish him well moving forward.
