Zach Parise Confirms He Has Signed With New York Islanders
Although the New York Islanders have yet to publicly announce that they have signed Zach Parise, the 37-year-old winger has confirmed it to Michael Russo of The Athletic. Russo shared this through Twitter.
The Islanders have been quite interesting this off-season, as they have been keeping the specifics of their moves secret from the rest of the league. Keep in mind, they just officially announced today that they have re-signed Kyle Palmieri and Casey Cizikas. Yet, every hockey fan knew it was coming since the beginning of free agency. They also re-signed RFAs Anthony Beauvillier and Ilya Sorokin.Just chatted with former #mnwild vet Zach Parise and he confirms he agreed to terms with the #isles earlier this summer.

GM Lou Lamoriello just has to register his contract with the NHL. He’s got his Isles breezers and is heading to NY for good later this month.
Parise should be a very solid veteran presence with the Islanders, as he has a ton of overall experience in this league. In 1,060 career games between the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild, he has 393 goals, 417 assists and 810 points.
With the Islanders, one has to assume that he is hoping to win the Stanley Cup. When looking at their two past postseason runs, the Islanders surely have the potential to do this.
Parise also is still a pretty decent contributor even as a grizzled veteran. In 45 games this past season with the Wild, he scored seven goals and recorded 18 points. Furthermore, he did well during the postseason, as he had two goals and an assist in four games.
Once the specifics of his contract is released, we will report it immediately. Keep an eye out for it.
