12 NHL Players Placed On Waivers
With the 2021-22 NHL regular season just a few days away, it's not all that surprising to see more players on waivers again. In total, 12 new players are available for the taking.
Sonny Milano is an intriguing name on the list. The 25-year-old winger was selected 16th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he has had trouble cementing himself a permanent spot in the NHL. This past season, he played just six games with the Anaheim Ducks and was held off the scoresheet. Maybe another franchise could elect to give him a shot.Waivers: 10/8/21 pic.twitter.com/TKEc7cuT90

If an NHL team wants to get a little tougher, Luke Witkowski wouldn't be a bad player to add. He's capable of playing both defense and right wing, too. He spent all of last season with the Syracuse Crunch and was their captain. In 14 games, he had two assists and 32 penalty minutes. He last played in the NHL with the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2019-20 season. He would have three points in 12 games.
We will have to wait and see if those two or any of the other players get claimed by another team.
