3 Players Named to Team Canada's Olympic Team
The NHL is returning to the Winter Olympics in 2022 and Team Canada is already notifying players about if they will be making the trip to Beijing. According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid and Alex Pietrangelo have all been notified they will be on Team Canada.
For NHL fans it's the exact news we're looking for as the best part of the Olympics is getting to watch best on best, but also best with best. Seeing Crosby and McDavid on the same power play is going to be crazy to watch, regardless of what country you are cheering for. For Crosby this will be his third Olympics, winning gold at both the 2010 and 2014 winter games. McDavid gets a taste of Olympic hockey for the very first time.
As for Pietrangelo, this will be his second Olympics after being a part of the 2014 team. He will be a pillar for the back end and will certainly be one of the more veteran defenseman on the team. Some other defenseman worth keeping an eye on include Cale Makar, Morgan Rielly, Shea Theodore, Thomas Chabot, Drew Doughty and Dougie Hamilton.
Here's the first Mock Draft of Team Canada. As you can see, the team is going to be stacked and be very difficult to beat.
