3 Potential Destinations for Bobby Ryan
Bobby Ryan is in need of a contract after the Detroit Red Wings made the tough decisions to cut him. The veteran winger was at training camp on a professional tryout and was not offered a contract once the preseason concluded.

Ryan was seen as a potential mentor type for the Wings this season, as the team is going to be stacked with some young talent. Turns out there wasn't room and Ryan is on the outside looking in. Here's three teams he could end up signing with as the 2021-22 season kicks off.
Detroit Red Wings: Yes, the Wings are still very interested in Ryan and will monitor their injury situation as the season unfolds. If they end up losing some wingers, look for the veteran winger to get the call back. Last season in Motown he recorded 14 points in 33 games and while the minutes wouldn't be crazy, it's very likely would be open to signing a deal mid-season.
Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins have had some luck with adding veterans as we've seen with Jeff Carter and Brian Boyle. Ryan and Penguins president of hockey operations Brian Burke have a great relationship and this would be a team ranked pretty high on the forward's list.
Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers depth at right wing will be tested this season and the team has a lot riding on their top-two lines. The team has a need for secondary scoring and Ryan could help play some fourth line minutes and second power play. The Oilers are a team to watch in the sweepstakes, and a contender Ryan would love to join.
