3 Potential Landing Spots For Defenseman Josh Manson

Over the summer, Anaheim Ducks defenseman Josh Manson rejected a trade to the Winnipeg Jets. That's the luxury of having a 12-team no trade list. However, the Ducks still have 19 other teams they can freely move the 30-year-old to. We recently reported that Manson will very likely be moved before this year's trade deadline, as the Ducks are rebuilding and he has an expiring contract.

These three teams should try to add the shutdown defenseman.

Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche may currently have a 2-3-0 record, but they will turn it around. They have far too much talent and are viewed as Stanley Cup favorites by many hockey fans. Yet, they could use a bit of an upgrade on the right side of their defensive group. Erik Johnson and Ryan Murray fill out the final two spots on the right side, which is certainly good, but they each are prone to injury. It wouldn't hurt to add Manson to the top-four, as Murray also is a lefty who can be switched to his regular side.

Florida Panthers: The Florida Panthers look absolutely outstanding to start the season. They are showing the league that last year's success was not a fluke. Although their forward group is very deep, it would not hurt them to add a defenseman like Manson. It would help solidify the right side of their group and make them even more challenging to play against.

Vancouver Canucks: The Vancouver Canucks could be a good spot for Manson, too. The Canucks certainly are in need of another right-handed defenseman, as Travis Hamonic is currently on a temporary leave of absence from the team. If it gets later into the season and the veteran still isn't back, Manson could be a fantastic rental option for them. He could be a nice partner for Quinn Hughes, as he plays a defense-first style of game.

Honorable Mention: If the Montreal Canadiens can regroup after their rough start, they also could be a fit for Manson. The loss of Shea Weber has left them with a hole on their right side and Manson would instantly help fix that. However, they would need to get back on track to consider bringing in a rental.
