A Promising Update Regarding Kings Defenseman Drew Doughty
In Saturday night's game against the Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty took a knee-on-knee hit from Jani Hakanpaa. He left the ice in clear pain and it seemed possible that he was seriously hurt. However, things appear to not be as bad as they seemed, as Doughty is expected to have a minor knee sprain, according to Frank Seravalli.
Although it's never good when a player gets injured, it seemed like it could have been far worse for Doughty. He had to receive help from a trainer and teammate Mikey Anderson to get off the ice. One could easily tell that he was in a lot of pain, too.Hearing initial prognosis last night on Drew Doughty was positive - a relatively minor knee sprain.

Still awaiting final word today from docs, but certainly a welcomed sigh of relief from #LAKings, Doughty and (!) Hockey Canada after a scary sequence. #Beijing2022@DFOHockey
Doughty has looked like his former Norris Trophy winner self this season, as he has a goal and six assists in only seven games. Once he is capable of returning to Kings, it would be great to see him continue to play this well. The amount of games that Jani Hakanpää will be suspended for this knee-on-knee hit on Drew Doughty is___________? pic.twitter.com/rkVsoYftkg
