Alexandar Georgiev Clears The Air On Trade Request
According to Larry Brooks, New York Rangers goaltender Alexander Georgiev stated that he never actually requested a trade from the team. There had been reports during the off-season that stated he was disgruntled and wanted a change of scenery.
Due to the fact that Georgiev was never moved, it's easy to believe him. The 25-year-old goaltender will now be looking to have a bounce back season and be a reliable backup for the Rangers.
In 19 games this past season, he had an 8-7-2 record and .905 SV%. He previously had more success in net, as during the 2018-19 season, he sported a 14-13-4 record and .914 SV%. He also had a .910 SV% the year after that.
It will be intriguing to see how he performs this time around. He has a clean slate and with him still being young, it's fair to assume that he can get back to his old numbers.
