Anaheim Ducks To Terminate Forward's Contract
The Anaheim Ducks have placed Alexander Volkov on unconditional waivers. With this, they are planning to terminate the winger's contract.
Volkov surprisingly did not make Anaheim's NHL roster this season. In 19 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last year, he scored three goals and had five points. However, when he joined the Ducks to finish off the season, he scored four goals and had eight points in 18 games. Therefore, he was productive with the Ducks in his small sample size. It seemed probable in the summer that he would take on a bigger role this regular season because of it, but that just did not happen.Alexander Volkov on unconditional waivers for purposes of contract termination

Volkov played in two games with the San Diego Gulls this season and recorded an assist.
Due to the fact that his contract is being terminated, there's a good chance that he will be heading overseas to resume his career. The 24-year-old certainly should grab the attention of KHL teams.
In 46 career NHL games between the Lightning and Ducks, Volkov scored seven goals and had 14 points.
