Arizona Coyotes: 3 Players With Expiring Contracts

With the off-season almost completed, it feels right to take a preview into next year's. In this segment, we will be looking at three players from each team who have expiring contracts. Both restricted and unrestricted free agents are eligible for discussion.

In this piece, we will be looking at the Arizona Coyotes. They have a few notable names with contracts that are expiring for one reason or another.

Phil Kessel RW (UFA): Phil Kessel was in the rumor mill this summer, but a deal did not occur. However, due to the fact that he is a 33-year-old winger on a team that is rebuilding, one has to assume he's a big rental candidate. In 56 games last season, he scored 20 goals and had 43 points.

Lawson Crouse LW (RFA): Lawson Crouse struggled a bit this past season, as he had just 13 points in 51 games. However, over the two previous seasons, he 25 points in each of them. He is certainly capable of bouncing back and could even have a larger role this season because of all the players the Coyotes got rid of this off-season.

Loui Eriksson LW (UFA): The Coyotes took on Loui Eriksson's contract in the Conor Garland-Oliver Ekman-Larsson trade. What's nice about it is that Eriksson has just one year left on his contract. The same is the case with Jay Beagle and Antoine Roussel. However, Eriksson's is most notable, as Arizona will only be eating his $6 million cap hit for one year.
